Tandem Deadlift $500* in cash prizes for first place winners of two different events:
1. 3 Maximum effort attempts
2. Maximum repetitions in 75 seconds
Weigh in’s will be 10 am, 2 hour before the event starts. Opening attempts for max effort lift will be given after weigh-ins. Rules meeting will be at 11:45 am. Lifting starts at 12 pm. Order will be determined using a rising bar for both events. Max effort event is first then max reps. There will be a 15-minute break between events.
RULES:
Maximum Effort
Each team is allowed three attempts on each lift. You will be giving 60 seconds to try to complete the lift. Both team members must lock out hips and knees, display complete control and have the shoulders behind the bar in order to receive the down command. The bar cannot be dropped from the top and must be guided to the floor. If the bar is dropped intentionally the team will receive a zero for that attempt. The team’s best valid attempt will count towards their score.
Maximum repetitions
Each team is will be given 75 seconds to complete as many repetitions as possible. Up and down commands will be given. An up command will be given once the bar and weights come to a complete stop. A down command will be given when both team members display shoulders behind the bar, locked out hips and knees, and complete control. Teams must lower the bar under control. If the bar is dropped the team will receive a 0 for this event.
Additional rules
Wrist wraps, wrist straps of any kind, belt, chalk, and knee sleeves are allowed. No knee wraps or deadlift suits will be allowed. Sumo stance is not allowed.

We will be using a Texas squat bar for the event.
The Diameter is 1-1/4" (31.75 mm)
SCORING - Relative strength will determine score.
TWL = total weight lifted
BW = body weight
RSS = relative strength score
Maximum Effort
MEN
(TWL ÷ 2) ÷ BW = RSS
WOMEN
((TWL ÷ 2) ÷ BW) ÷ 0.74 = RSS
TEAM
(RSS of team mate 1 + RSS of team mate 2) ÷ 2 = RSS of the team
Maximum repetitions
Body weight determines each team mate’s contribution to the total weight on the bar
Men = BW x 2
Women = BW x 1.48
The weight on the bar will be determined by adding each team mates contribution together
*if 7 or less teams participate total cash prize will be less than $500
