Rituals of Strength 3

This competition is sanctioned by United States Strongman (USS). Top 3 in each class qualify for 2020 Nationals on June 27th in Minneapolis, MN.

United States Strongman membership is required of all contestants.

Events:

1. Overhead Medley (circus dumbbell, log, axle)
2. Tire Deadlift for reps
3. Max Distance Carry (husafel, mouser block or natural stone)
4. Max Yoke Squat to Keg Load
5. Truck Pull

1. Overhead Medley. Clean and press each implement before repeating round. Athlete will have 60 sec. to complete as many rounds as possible (most reps wins). All 3 implements must be cleaned and pressed before the next round begins. Athletes can complete each round in any order they like. Elbow(s), knees, and hips must be locked for the DOWN COMMAND. Elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, belts, knee sleeves, and chalk allowed.

Example: Round 1: Log, Axle, CBD. Round 2: CDB, Log, Axle

2. Tire Deadlift for reps. Athlete will have 60 sec. to complete as many reps as possible. You will be given UP and DOWN commands each rep. Up commands will given when the bar is motionless. Belts, wrist straps, elbow sleeves, knees sleeves and chalk are allowed. No deadlift suits or briefs allowed. Deadlift bar, 13-16”.

3. Max Distance Carry. (husafel, mouser block, or natural stone). Athlete will pick and carry the implement as far as possible. No drops allowed. Athlete will turn around cones set at 60’. Athlete must guide implement on to crash pad. Measurements will be taken at the toe of the forward foot. Belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, grip shirt and chalk are allowed. Tacky is not allowed.

4. Max Yoke Squat to Keg Load. The height of the yoke will be 72.5% of the athlete’s height. Height measurements will be taken at time of weigh ins/registration. Athlete will squat the yoke and be given a down command when hips and knees are fully locked out and athlete displays control of the yoke. Athlete will then load a keg over the yoke. Weight will be added to the yoke after each successful squat and keg load. Athlete will have 10 seconds to attempt a lift. You are done when you cannot complete a lift within the 10 seconds. No time limit, you go until you fail. Belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves and grip shirt allowed. TACKY is NOT allowed.

5. Truck Pull (indoor heavy sled pull in the case of inclement weather). The athlete will pull a truck or sled 60’ as fast as possible. Athlete will be in a pulling harness and using a guide rope for the hands. Gloves are allowed.
